The short version
Subscribed through our website? You have 14 days from your first payment to ask for a full refund. After that, and on renewals, refunds are at our discretion except where the law says otherwise. Subscribed on your iPhone? That purchase belongs to Apple, so the refund has to come from them.
1. 14 days on your first payment
When you start a paid plan through our website, you can ask for a full refund within 14 days of that first charge. You don't need a reason, and you don't need to justify it. Email connect@getkindredly.com from the address on your account and we'll refund the payment in full.
Refunds go back to the card or PayPal account you paid with. Depending on your bank it usually lands within a few working days, and up to ten in the slower cases.
2. Try it before you pay at all
New paid plans start with a free trial, and you can cancel during the trial without ever being charged. We'll email you before the trial ends so the first payment is never a surprise. Cancelling during the trial is the cleanest way to decide Kindredly isn't for you.
3. Renewals
Subscriptions renew until you cancel, and renewal payments are not refundable, except where the law where you live says otherwise. You can cancel at any time before a renewal date to stop the next payment.
If something has genuinely gone wrong with a renewal, email us and we'll look at it. We consider these individually rather than by a standing rule, so please don't read this as a guarantee.
4. Annual plans
Annual plans work the same way: 14 days from the first payment, and renewals as described in section 3.
5. Purchases made in the iPhone app
If you subscribed inside the Kindredly iOS app, Apple is the seller and takes the payment through your Apple account. We can't see your card, can't charge it, and can't issue a refund for it, no matter how much we'd like to.
Those refunds are requested from Apple directly, using reportaproblem.apple.com or the Report a Problem link on your Apple receipt. Apple decides the outcome under their own policy. To cancel an App Store subscription so it doesn't renew, use Settings on your iPhone rather than emailing us.
Email us anyway if you get stuck. We can't move the money, but we can tell you what to click.
6. If you're on a Together plan
A Together plan covers both partners on one subscription. If it's refunded, the shared plan ends for the pair and both accounts return to Free. Your partner keeps their account, their own private entries and everything Free includes.
They'll simply be told the shared plan has ended. We don't tell them a refund was requested, who asked, or why. Billing is between you and us.
7. Keeping this fair
This policy exists for people deciding whether Kindredly is right for them, not as a way to use it for free. We may decline a refund where an account is clearly working around that, and we limit refunds to one per person in any 12-month period.
8. Your legal rights come first
Nothing here reduces the rights you have under the consumer law where you live. In the EU, EEA and UK that includes a statutory 14-day right to withdraw from a distance contract, and other countries set their own windows. Where your local right is stronger than this policy, your local right wins, and you can rely on it without arguing the point with us.
9. Cancelling, and what you keep
A refund is not the same as a cancellation. You can cancel any time from your account (or iOS Settings for App Store subscriptions), and you keep paid access until the end of the period you've already paid for. After that the paid features pause and the Free features carry on.
Either way your words stay yours. Cancelling doesn't delete anything, and deleting is always available to you separately, entries and vectors alike. See the Privacy Policy for how that works.
10. How to ask for a refund
Email connect@getkindredly.com from the address on your account and tell us you'd like a refund. Within the 14 days in section 1 you don't need to give a reason. We aim to reply within two working days.
This policy sits alongside our Terms of Service.
